# ParaCrux Solidworks Agent

> ParaCrux Solidworks Agent is Windows desktop software that brings an AI agent into SOLIDWORKS: it inspects the open model, prepares supported changes, runs them on copies and keeps the original. It needs a separately licensed SOLIDWORKS installation.

Key facts, as published on this site:

- Platform: 64-bit Windows desktop app. It connects locally to your own, separately licensed SOLIDWORKS installation and does not include a SOLIDWORKS licence.
- What it does today: inspects the open model (features, dimensions, configurations, properties) and carries out supported, reviewed changes on copies, keeping the original. It does not promise to automate every engineering decision; outputs need engineering review before manufacture or release.
- Status words: "Available" ships in the paid Agent today; "In review" is in the next desktop release; "Lab" is shown in demos and case studies and is not for sale. Case studies are prepared, not certified.
- Pricing: £39 per seat per month or £390 per seat per year, before tax, through Paddle as merchant of record. Each seat covers one concurrent computer and includes £5 of managed AI credit per UTC month. The Files preview is free.
- Data: model files stay on the workstation. With design-context sharing on, the message and a limited design-context packet go to the AI model; reference files travel only as names and fingerprints.
- Supplier: CueCrux Limited, registered in England and Wales, company 16885471. Support: support@paracrux.com. SOLIDWORKS is a trademark of Dassault Systèmes; ParaCrux is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Dassault Systèmes.

## Install the app and activate it

> From an empty account to a licensed workstation, in three moves.

Status: Available · Level: Start here · About 5 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/install-and-activate

### You need

- 64-bit Windows
- Your own licensed SOLIDWORKS installation
- An email address for your customer account

### You'll come away with

- A customer account with at least one seat
- The desktop app installed and activated on this computer
- Updates arriving on their own

### Step by step

1. **Create your account and buy a seat.** Open My account, register with your email and choose monthly or yearly billing. Payment is taken by Paddle, our merchant of record. One seat covers one computer at a time.
2. **Confirm your payment.** After payment, refresh the payment status in My account. You need an activation code only if you will paste one instead of signing in from the app; treat a code like a password until it has been used.
3. **Install the app.** Download the Windows installer from the download page and run it. The Files preview works straight away, without a licence.
4. **Activate.** In the app, open Licensing. On the ParaCrux Solidworks Agent access card, choose Sign in with your ParaCrux account and approve this computer in your browser. Or expand Use an activation code instead, paste your code into Activation code for this product and choose Activate Solidworks Agent. Online access starts automatically when a seat is free, and the app renews it while it runs.
5. **Let it keep itself current.** The app checks for updates on launch and every four hours. Update packages are signed and verified before they install. To check by hand, open Settings, General, App updates and choose Check for updates. Save your work before restarting.

### What it won't do

- The installer does not yet carry a Windows publisher signature, so Windows may warn you the first time.
- Compatibility qualification is still in progress. Confirm your SOLIDWORKS version with support before production use.
- AI credit is separate from the seat subscription.
- Use a seat automatically when online is on by default, so a running app can occupy a company seat. Turn it off on the Licensing card if you do not want that.

### Covers

- Customer account (Available): Register with your email, sign in and recover your password. Where: My account (/dashboard)
- Seats and subscription (Available): Buy seats monthly (£39) or yearly (£390); each seat runs on one computer at a time. Where: Pricing, then My account → Subscription
- Install and update (Available): Download the Windows app; it checks for signed updates on launch and every four hours. Where: Download page; in the app, Settings → General
- Activate a computer (Available): Generate a code for each product in your account and paste it into the app; it takes a seat automatically whenever one is free and you are online. Where: My account → Activation; in the app, Licensing

### Next

- [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md): Approve this computer in your browser instead of copying an activation code.
- [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md): Ask a question in plain English and the Agent reads the answer from the model open in SOLIDWORKS. Reading never changes anything.

## Activate by signing in from the app

> Approve this computer in your browser instead of copying an activation code.

Status: Available · Level: Start here · About 3 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app

### You need

- The desktop app installed on Windows
- An active subscription on your ParaCrux account
- An internet connection

### You'll come away with

- Activate a computer without copying a code
- Spot a request you did not start
- Know when to use a code or a licence file instead

### Step by step

1. **Start in the app.** Open Licensing. On the ParaCrux Solidworks Agent access card, choose Sign in with your ParaCrux account. The app opens paracrux.com in your browser and shows an 8-letter code, such as BCDF-GHJK.
2. **Sign in on the website.** If you are not signed in, sign in with your email and password. The page shows the computer's name, the product, the code and when the request expires.
3. **Check, then approve.** Approve only if you started this sign-in on your computer just now and the code matches the one in the app. Anyone can choose a computer's name, so never approve a code someone sent you. Approving needs an active subscription and counts as one of your 10 activations a day; it does not take a seat.
4. **Back in the app.** The app finishes on its own. It says Signed in, switches on Use a seat automatically when online and takes a seat when one is free. A request lasts 10 minutes; if it expires, start again.
5. **When to use something else.** Under Use an activation code instead you can still paste a code from My account, for example for scripted set-ups. A computer that is never online uses offline licence files.

### Walkthrough

The labels and messages are the app's and the website's own. The code, computer name and company are examples.

- **Licensing:** Button = Sign in with your ParaCrux account; Help = Opens paracrux.com in your browser. Approve this computer there; there is no code to copy.
- Provenance: real-code

- **Waiting:** Panel = In your browser, approve the code BCDF-GHJK. Only approve a code this computer shows.; Status = Waiting for approval in your browser…
- Provenance: real-code

- **paracrux.com/activate · Sign in this computer?:** Computer name = ParaCrux Desktop on WORKSTATION-07; Product = Solidworks Agent; Code = BCDF-GHJK
- **Gate:** Only approve if you started this sign-in in ParaCrux on your computer just now and the code matches.
- Provenance: real-code

- **paracrux.com/activate:** Result = Computer approved.
- Provenance: real-code

- **Agent:** Signed in. Your company · floating seat valid until 02/10/2026, 22:15:00.
- *The app then takes a seat automatically when one is free.*
- Provenance: real-code

### What it won't do

- Approving needs an active subscription; denying does not.
- A request lasts 10 minutes and works once. A declined or expired request cannot be reused.
- Each account can approve 10 activations a day, the same limit as activation codes.

## Ask about the open model

> Ask a question in plain English and the Agent reads the answer from the model open in SOLIDWORKS. Reading never changes anything.

Status: Available · Level: Start here · About 6 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model

### You need

- The app activated
- Agent connection set to CueCrux Credits or OpenAI Subs (shown beside Send)
- Design-context sharing allowed (see How a job spends AI credit)
- SOLIDWORKS running as the same Windows user, with a part open

### You'll come away with

- Know the thirteen read-only views the Agent can take of your model
- See which read answered you
- Know why a change request goes to a worksheet instead

### Step by step

1. **Open a design conversation.** From Home, choose Solidworks Agent, then Open project workspace. Pick a project and design, or add them with the + buttons, and stay on the Agent tab.
2. **Ask a question.** Type what you want to know, the way you would ask a colleague, and press Enter (Shift+Enter starts a new line). The Agent picks one of thirteen read-only views of the open model and runs it. The call and its result appear in the conversation, so you can see what answered you.
Try saying: "What features are in this part?"
3. **Ask about weight and size.** The mass read gives mass, volume, area, density and centre of mass for the active configuration.
Try saying: "How heavy is it?"
4. **Check what is under defined.** The sketches read lists each sketch, the plane or face it sits on, its segment count and how fully defined it is.
Try saying: "Which sketches are under defined?"
5. **Ask for a change.** Reading cannot change anything. Dimension changes go through a worksheet that you review before anything runs; the lesson on changing a dimension shows how.
Try saying: "Make the plate 12 mm thick."

### Try it

In the app the AI model picks which read answers your question; each example shows one likely pick, and you can run any read directly. The thirteen reads are the tool's own list. Replies come from a sample 60 × 40 × 10 mm steel plate, calculated for this page. The interactive simulator is on the web page.

- "What's open in SOLIDWORKS?"
- "What features are in this part?"
- "How heavy is it?"
- "List the dimensions"
- "Which sketches are under defined?"
- "What's the part number?"
- "Make the plate 12 mm thick."

### What it won't do

- Reading never changes, rebuilds, saves or closes anything in SOLIDWORKS.
- It needs SOLIDWORKS already running as the same Windows user.
- What a read returns is sent to the AI model as part of the conversation.
- With OpenAI API (your own API key), the Agent gives advice and dimension proposals only; it cannot run reads.

### Covers

- Ask about the open model (Available): Ask in plain English and the Agent reads the model open in SOLIDWORKS: features, dimensions, mass, properties and eight more read-only views. Where: Solidworks Agent workspace, in a design conversation
- Projects, designs and intent (Available): Keep each piece of work in a numbered project and design, with the intent and instructions the Agent follows. Where: Home → Solidworks Agent (Open project workspace)

### Next

## Write design intent and instructions

> Tell the Agent what must change, what must stay true and how you want it to work. It keeps both up to date as you talk.

Status: Available · Level: Start here · About 6 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/write-design-intent

### You need

- The app activated
- Agent connection set to CueCrux Credits or OpenAI Subs (shown beside Send)

### You'll come away with

- A numbered project and design to work in
- Design intent the Agent reads with every message
- Standing instructions for how it should work

### Step by step

1. **Create a project and a design.** In the Solidworks Agent workspace, choose + next to Projects, give it a title and choose Create. Then choose + on the project's row to add a design. The first project is numbered 000 and its first design 000-001; change the pattern under Settings, Project numbering.
2. **Write the design intent.** Open the Design intent tab. In plain engineering language, say what should change and what must remain true. Choose Save. If you would rather start from a draft, choose Ask the agent to draft.
Try saying: "The bracket must carry 2 kN at the tip. Keep the two M8 mounting holes and the 60 mm hole spacing. Plate thickness can change."
3. **Write the instructions.** Open the Instructions tab. This is how you want the Agent to work on this design: its role, units, checks and how to report back. Choose Save.
Try saying: "Work in millimetres. State every assumption before modelling. Report mass and volume after each change."
4. **Let the Agent keep them current.** When you state or change a requirement in the conversation, the Agent rewrites the intent or instructions in full and says so; the conversation shows Updated Design intent. You can edit either tab at any time. Save your edits first: unsaved changes block Send.
Try saying: "Change of plan: the holes are now M10."
5. **Check what the Agent sees.** On the Instructions tab, choose Preview to see the context the Agent receives with each message, including the intent and instructions.

### Walkthrough

A walk-through of one design. The tool names, tab names and labels are the app's own; the bracket and its wording are an example.

- **New design:** Project = 000 · Brackets; Design = 000-001 · Wall bracket; Tabs = Agent · Instructions · Design intent · Design context
- *Default numbering: three digits, a hyphen, designs restarting for each project.*
- Provenance: illustrative

- **You:** The bracket must carry 2 kN at the tip. Keep the two M8 mounting holes and the 60 mm hole spacing. Plate thickness can change.
- **Agent:** I've written that into the design intent.
- **Tool call:** `design_update_intent` {"intent":"Carry 2 kN at the tip. Must remain true: two M8 mounting holes at 60 mm spacing. May change: plate thickness."}
- **Design intent:** Status = Updated Design intent
- Provenance: illustrative

- **You:** Change of plan: the holes are now M10.
- **Tool call:** `design_update_intent` {"intent":"Carry 2 kN at the tip. Must remain true: two M10 mounting holes at 60 mm spacing. May change: plate thickness."}
- *The Agent writes the whole revised text, not a patch, so the tab always reads as one current statement.*
- Provenance: illustrative

- **Gate:** Edit either tab yourself whenever you like. Save before you send your next message.
- Provenance: illustrative

### What it won't do

- Instructions are capped at 6,000 bytes. Intent you type can be up to 12,000 bytes; the Agent writes shorter, about 7,000 characters at most.
- Only CueCrux Credits and OpenAI Subs can write these tabs. With OpenAI API you edit them yourself.
- Instructions shape how the Agent works; they cannot give it tools it does not have or lift its review rules.
- Once sharing is on, intent and instructions go with every message.

### Covers

- Projects, designs and intent (Available): Keep each piece of work in a numbered project and design, with the intent and instructions the Agent follows. Where: Home → Solidworks Agent (Open project workspace)

### Next

## Find a standard structural section

> Ask for a tube, angle or beam in your own words and get real catalogue sizes back, with their standard.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 4 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/find-a-standard-section

### You need

- The app activated
- Agent connection set to CueCrux Credits or OpenAI Subs (shown beside Send)
- A design conversation open in the Solidworks Agent workspace

### You'll come away with

- Search 306 sections across seven families
- Read the size, wall and source standard for each result
- Know when to narrow a search

### Step by step

1. **Say what you need.** In your design's conversation, describe the section. The Agent turns that into a search by family and designation.
Try saying: "I need a 50 mm square tube"
2. **Read the results.** Each result lists its designation, the dimensions in their catalogue units and the table it came from, with a fingerprint of that table so you can tell if it changes later.
3. **Narrow it down.** A search returns at most 20 sizes. If it says there were more, add the wall thickness or the full designation.
   Try saying: "a 50 by 50 tube with a 4 mm wall"
4. **Decide for yourself.** Results are catalogue candidates. The Agent does not check that a section suits your loads or matches a drawing you have. That call stays with you.

### Try it

This searches the real bundled catalogue with the same matching rule the app uses. The plain-English requests show how the Agent might phrase each search; you can edit the search yourself. The interactive simulator is on the web page.

- "I need a 50 mm square tube"
- "a 50 by 50 tube with a 4 mm wall"
- "What flat bar do we have 40 wide?"
- "Show me the 100 mm equal angles"
- "Any universal beams around 203 deep?"

### What it won't do

- Candidates only: geometric match and engineering suitability are not checked.
- At most 20 results per search.
- Custom profiles from DXF or DWG are not connected to this search.

### Covers

- Standard section search (Available): Find sizes among 306 standard structural sections in seven families, with their source standard. Where: Solidworks Agent workspace, in a design conversation

### Next

- [Create a simple part from a brief](https://paracrux.com/docs/create-a-simple-part.md): Describe a block with all three sizes and get a checked native part and STEP file. Leave a size out and it asks.

## Put cited materials into SOLIDWORKS

> Find a grade in the Materials tab, check where each value comes from, then add the whole library to SOLIDWORKS' Edit Material in one export.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 5 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/export-materials-to-solidworks

### You need

- The desktop app on Windows. Browsing and exporting use no seat and no AI credit
- SOLIDWORKS on the same computer, open for the first export

### You'll come away with

- Search 1,010 materials by grade, number, old name or standard
- Tell a specification minimum from a typical value, and find its source
- Export the library and find it in Edit Material

### Step by step

1. **Open the Materials tab.** In the app, open Home and choose Materials. The count beside the heading shows how many materials match, out of 1,010 in 12 families.
2. **Search for the grade.** Type a grade, material number, old name or standard. Every word you type must appear, so adding the standard narrows the list. The family list narrows it further.
Try saying: "S355 to EN 10025-2 only"
3. **Search the way the library names things.** Search matches the words, not their meaning. 316L finds the 1.4404 grades because 316L is listed as another name, but 'brass' finds nothing: search for the grade, such as CuZn39Pb3 or CW614N.
   Try saying: "brass"
4. **Read where each value comes from.** Select a material. Each value has a basis: Min is a specification minimum, Typ a manufacturer's typical value and Nom a constant. Strengths show the thickness they apply to, and every value names its source and the page or table it came from. Stockist data marks strengths taken from a stockist's datasheet rather than a producer or the standard.
5. **Note the SOLIDWORKS name.** The SolidWorks name is what you will pick in Edit Material. Where a grade comes in several forms, each form has its own name, such as 1.4404 X2CrNiMo17-12-2 plate.
   Try saying: "316L stainless"
6. **Export to SOLIDWORKS.** Open SOLIDWORKS, then choose Export to SolidWorks under the material's details. The app writes ParaCrux Materials.sldmat to C:\ProgramData\ParaCrux\SolidWorks Materials and adds that folder to SOLIDWORKS' material databases. If SOLIDWORKS is closed the file is still written; open SOLIDWORKS and export again. Adding the folder is needed once per computer and SOLIDWORKS version.
7. **Apply it in SOLIDWORKS.** After the first export, restart SOLIDWORKS. In Edit Material, open ParaCrux Materials, then the group, and apply the material. SOLIDWORKS' own libraries and your Custom Materials are not changed.

### Try it

This is the real material library, built into the page from the same tables the app ships, searched with the app's own rule. It shows four properties of each material; the app shows them all, with temperature tables. The export is simulated: the status lines are the app's own text, but nothing is written, and the SOLIDWORKS switch stands in for SOLIDWORKS itself. The interactive simulator is on the web page.

- "S355 structural steel"
- "S355 to EN 10025-2 only"
- "316L stainless"
- "6082 aluminium in T6"
- "brass"
- "CW614N free-cutting brass"

### What it won't do

- Strengths are specification minimums for the stated thickness unless marked typical. Check the mill or material certificate for design.
- A material already applied to a part keeps the values and look it was given. After a library update, apply it again to pick up new values and looks; the app does not yet flag affected parts.
- SOLIDWORKS' material file has no place for temperature tables or curves, so only room-temperature values go across.
- The folder can only be added while SOLIDWORKS is running, and a newly added library appears after SOLIDWORKS restarts.
- Search has no synonyms: a family word such as brass or nylon finds nothing unless it is part of a listed name.

### Covers

- Materials library export (Available): Search 1,010 cited materials in 12 families and export them to SOLIDWORKS as one material library. Where: In the app, Home → Materials

### Next

- [Install standard sections as weldment profiles](https://paracrux.com/docs/install-weldment-profiles.md): Write all 306 standard sections into SOLIDWORKS as weldment profiles, each checked as a 1 m member, then pick them in Structural Member.
- [Find a standard structural section](https://paracrux.com/docs/find-a-standard-section.md): Ask for a tube, angle or beam in your own words and get real catalogue sizes back, with their standard.

## Install standard sections as weldment profiles

> Write all 306 standard sections into SOLIDWORKS as weldment profiles, each checked as a 1 m member, then pick them in Structural Member.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 4 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/install-weldment-profiles

### You need

- The desktop app on Windows. Exporting uses no seat and no AI credit
- SOLIDWORKS open on the same computer
- About half an hour for the first export

### You'll come away with

- Export the sections and know what each check means
- Find them under Standard ParaCrux EN in Structural Member
- Know why later exports are quick

### Step by step

1. **Open SOLIDWORKS first.** SOLIDWORKS writes the profile files itself, so it must be running. If it is not, the export stops before writing anything and tells you to open it.
2. **Export.** In the app, open Home › Profiles and choose Export to SolidWorks under SolidWorks weldment profiles. SOLIDWORKS briefly opens each size it writes, so the first export of all 306 takes around half an hour; our test run of 283 took 27 minutes. The status line shows which size it is writing.
3. **Every size is checked.** After writing each file, SOLIDWORKS builds a 1 m structural member from it in a scratch part that is never saved. The file is installed only if the member's volume matches the section area to one part in a million.
4. **Find them in SOLIDWORKS.** If every size passed, the app adds the folder to SOLIDWORKS' weldment profile locations. In Structural Member, choose Standard ParaCrux EN, then the type (UB, UC, RHS, SHS, CHS, Equal angle or Flat bar) and the size.
5. **Export again after an update.** The app keeps a record of what it wrote. A later export rewrites only new, changed or missing sizes, and removes only files it wrote for sizes that have left the library. Files ParaCrux did not write are never changed.

### Walkthrough

The messages are the app's own. The counts and times are from the live run on SOLIDWORKS 2026 (34.4.1) on 30 September 2026, which drove the same export code as the button. The size shown while writing is an example. That run wrote the 283 steel sections, before the 23 aluminium round tubes were added; a first export now writes 306.

- **You:** Export to SolidWorks, with SOLIDWORKS closed
- Provenance: illustrative

- **SolidWorks weldment profiles:** Status = Open SolidWorks, then export again. SolidWorks writes the profile files itself.
- *Nothing is written until SOLIDWORKS is running.*
- Provenance: real-code

- **Gate:** Open SOLIDWORKS, then choose Export to SolidWorks again.
- Provenance: illustrative

- **SolidWorks weldment profiles:** Status = SolidWorks is writing 41 of 283: ParaCrux EN/UB/203x133x25.sldlfp
- *Each size is written, then built as a 1 m structural member and checked against its section area before it is installed.*
- Provenance: illustrative

- **First export:** Written = 283; Failed = 0; Time = 1,601 s (about 27 minutes); Status = 283 written · 0 unchanged. Folder added to SolidWorks weldment profiles. In SolidWorks: Structural Member → Standard “ParaCrux EN”.
- *The counts and time are recorded; the status line is the app's text for that result.*
- Provenance: recorded

- **A sample member:** UB 127×76×13 = 1,657.338 mm², including its 7.6 mm root radii; CHS 219.1×10 = 6,569.070 mm²
- *Member areas measured in SOLIDWORKS, equal to the library's areas.*
- Provenance: recorded

- **Second export, same library:** Written = 0; Unchanged = 283; Time = 0.84 s; Status = 0 written · 283 unchanged. Folder already registered in SolidWorks. In SolidWorks: Structural Member → Standard “ParaCrux EN”.
- Provenance: recorded

### What it won't do

- Angles and hollow sections have sharp corners: the library has no cited toe or corner radii for them, so none is assumed. Their SOLIDWORKS mass can differ slightly from tabulated masses.
- Universal beams and columns carry their root radii, so their masses come within 0.49% of the tabulated mass per metre at 7,850 kg/m³.
- If any size fails its check, the folder is not added to SOLIDWORKS. The status names the first failure.
- Only the bundled standard sections are exported, not your personal profiles.
- To remove them, take the folder out of SOLIDWORKS Options › File Locations › Weldment Profiles and delete C:\ProgramData\ParaCrux\SolidWorks Weldment Profiles.

### Covers

- Weldment profile export (Available): Write all 306 standard sections as SOLIDWORKS weldment profiles, each checked as a 1 m member before the folder is registered. Where: In the app, Home → Profiles

## Use your design library

> Keep house rules, tolerances and material notes in a library the Agent searches before it works.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 6 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/search-your-design-library

### You need

- The app activated
- Agent connection set to CueCrux Credits or OpenAI Subs (shown beside Send)
- A design open in the Solidworks Agent workspace

### You'll come away with

- Add Starter entries and your own notes to a design
- Know exactly what the Agent's search will and won't find
- Trace which designs used an entry's source file

### Step by step

1. **Open Design context.** On your design, open the Design context tab. This design shows what the Agent can search; Library shows the Starter entries and anything shared across designs.
2. **Add Starter entries.** The Library comes with Starter entries such as ISO 2768 medium tolerances, ISO 273 clearance holes and tap drill sizes. Choose Add to design on the ones you use. The Agent searches this design's entries and anything shared across designs, but not Starter entries until you add them
3. **Write your own.** Choose + (Write a new entry). Pick This design only, or The library, shared across designs. Give it a title and the engineering context, and optionally a source reference.
4. **Ask the Agent to use it.** Ask a question that the library answers. The Agent searches titles and text for your words and cites the entry it used.
Try saying: "What clearance hole should I use for an M8 bolt?"
5. **See where a source was used.** If an entry has a source file, the Agent can attach it to the design. To trace it later, right-click the file in References and choose View where used.

### Try it

The Starter entries are the app's own, and the search follows the app's rule exactly: this design's entries and anything shared, never Starter entries until added. Add or write entries, then search. The requests in quotes show how the Agent might phrase a search. The interactive simulator is on the web page.

- "What clearance hole should I use for an M8 bolt?"
- "What general tolerance applies?"
- "Which tap drill for M6?"
- "What do we know about 6082-T6?"

### What it won't do

- Search matches your words literally, ignoring case. It does not understand synonyms: 'clearance' finds clearance holes, 'bolt hole' may not.
- The Agent sees at most the 20 newest matches.
- Starter entries must be added to a design before the Agent's search can find them.
- Entries are reference data, not instructions. Text in an entry cannot make the Agent do anything.
- Shared means shared across designs in this workspace on this computer, not online.
- Starter values are general guidance. Confirm them against your own standards and the governing edition.

### Covers

- Design library search (Available): Search the references and notes you have saved, privately per design or shared across your workspace. Where: Solidworks Agent workspace, in a design conversation

### Next

## Teach the Agent your company's practice

> Capture a preferred material, standard detail or lesson from a finished design, approve it once, and the Agent cites it when it applies.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 5 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/capture-company-knowledge

### You need

- A design whose design intent, agent instructions or a private library entry records the practice
- Someone who can approve it under their name; that can be you

### You'll come away with

- Capture a practice from a finished design
- Approve it so the Agent can use it
- Revise or revoke it later

### Step by step

1. **Find it.** On a design, open the Design context tab and choose Company knowledge, next to This design and Library.
2. **Propose from a design.** Choose Propose from this design. Pick a Kind (Preferred material, Standard detail or Lesson learned), give a Title, and write the Statement: what to use or do, and why. Optionally say which part classes, tags and limits it applies to. Then tick what to cite: the design intent, agent instructions or a private library entry, as they are now.
3. **Approve it.** A proposal never reaches the Agent. Open it and choose Approve…, read the full statement and its sources, and approve under your name. Only people propose and approve; the Agent cannot.
4. **How the Agent uses it.** When the Agent searches the shared library and an approved entry's title or statement matches, it receives the entry as reference data with its id and version, and is told to cite them. It never overrides your own request or this design's intent.
5. **Keep it current.** Revise… proposes a new version; the current one stays in force until the revision is approved. Revoke… stops the Agent receiving it at once. Each source shows whether the text it cites is current, changed since cited or no longer found.

### Walkthrough

The labels and messages are the app's own. The title, statement, design and names are examples.

- **Company knowledge:** About = Approved entries reach the agent as reference data when its library search matches them, and it cites them by id and version. Only you propose and approve here; the agent cannot. Local to this workspace.; Button = Propose from this design
- Provenance: real-code

- **Propose company knowledge:** Kind = Preferred material; Title = 6082-T6 for machined brackets; Statement = Use 6082-T6 plate for machined brackets up to 20 mm; it machines cleanly and is stocked locally.; Cite = Design intent
- *A proposal never reaches the agent until someone approves it.*
- Provenance: real-code

- **Agent:** Proposed 6082-T6 for machined brackets. It reaches the agent once approved.
- Provenance: real-code

- **Gate:** Once approved, the agent receives this statement as reference data whenever its library search matches it, citing this id and version. It never overrides the user’s own request. You can revoke it later.
- Provenance: real-code

- **Approved · v1:** Provenance = v1 proposed by jsmith 2026-10-01 · approved by J Smith 2026-10-01; Source = Design intent · Brackets / BR-104 rev 3 · current
- Provenance: real-code

### What it won't do

- Entries stay in this workspace on this computer. Nothing is synced to other computers or people.
- Nothing is captured automatically: a person proposes every entry, citing text a design already holds.
- The Agent finds entries by matching words in their title or statement, newest approval first, at most 20 per search.
- Approved entries are reference data. The Agent is told to cite them, but whether it does depends on the model.
- Matching entries go with the conversation to whichever AI connection you use; with a local model they stay on your site.

### Covers

- Company knowledge (Available): Capture a preferred material, standard detail or lesson from a past design, approve it once, and the Agent cites it when it applies. Where: Design context, Company knowledge

## Create a simple part from a brief

> Describe a block with all three sizes and get a checked native part and STEP file. Leave a size out and it asks.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 6 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/create-a-simple-part

### You need

- The app activated
- Agent connection set to CueCrux Credits or OpenAI Subs (shown beside Send)
- SOLIDWORKS with a default Part template
- A design conversation open in the Solidworks Agent workspace

### You'll come away with

- Brief the Agent for a new rectangular part
- See what it checks before it tells you it is done
- Know where the files are saved

### Step by step

1. **Write the brief.** State every size and its unit. The Agent can create one new shape today: a rectangular block.
Try saying: "Create a new rectangular box, 100 mm wide, 50 mm deep and 25 mm high."
2. **Watch it convert units.** SOLIDWORKS works in metres, so the Agent sends 0.1, 0.05 and 0.025. Anything outside 0.000001 to 10 m is refused before SOLIDWORKS is touched.
3. **Check the result.** The part is saved, closed and reopened. The reopened body count, volume, area and bounds are compared, and the STEP export gets a recorded fingerprint.
4. **Find the files.** New saves go into the design's own revision folder: Projects, then your project, Designs, your design, Revisions, 001. Use Open output folder from the chat card.
5. **Leave a size out on purpose.** Brief it without a height. It does not invent one. It asks you.
Try saying: "Create a box 100 mm wide and 50 mm deep. Height is not yet decided."

### Walkthrough

A walk-through of one job. The routing scores are real benchmark answers. The part's numbers are calculated from your brief, not measured in SOLIDWORKS.

- **You:** Create a new rectangular box, 100 mm wide, 50 mm deep and 25 mm high.
- **Route (shadow mode):** Route = create box; Confidence = 0.97, 0.96; Floor to decide = 0.80
- *The typed routing layer (shadow mode) reads the request. In the 28 September benchmark it chose create box with 97% and 96% confidence over two runs.*
- Provenance: recorded

- **Agent:** All three sizes are given. I'll create one rectangular part and save native and STEP copies to this design.
- **Tool call:** `solidworks_create_box` {"width":0.1,"depth":0.05,"height":0.025}
- *Sizes go to SOLIDWORKS in metres.*
- Provenance: illustrative

- **Checks on reopen:** Bodies = 1; Volume = 125,000 mm³; Surface area = 17,500 mm²; Bounds = 100 × 50 × 25 mm; STEP export = fingerprint recorded
- *100 × 50 × 25 = 125,000 mm³, and 2 × (5,000 + 2,500 + 1,250) = 17,500 mm². The real run reads these back from the reopened part.*
- Provenance: calculated

- **Agent:** Saved to Revisions/001 as a native part and a STEP file. The sketch is not fully constrained; add relations if you will edit it.

- **You:** Create a box 100 mm wide and 50 mm deep. Height is not yet decided.
- **Route (shadow mode):** Route = clarify; Confidence = 1.00, 1.00
- *The same benchmark case, with the height missing. It routed to clarify at full confidence on both runs.*
- Provenance: recorded

- **Agent:** What height should it be? I won't pick one for you.
- **Gate:** Nothing is created until you answer.
- Provenance: illustrative

### What it won't do

- It creates rectangular blocks only, and never approximates another shape with one.
- The sketch it makes is not fully constrained.
- Checks cover body count, volume, area and bounds. Feature intent and engineering correctness are not checked.
- Routing runs in shadow mode: it records its choice but does not steer the Agent yet.

### Covers

- Projects, designs and intent (Available): Keep each piece of work in a numbered project and design, with the intent and instructions the Agent follows. Where: Home → Solidworks Agent (Open project workspace)
- Create a simple box part (Available): Ask for a rectangular block with all three sizes and get a native part and a STEP file, both checked. Where: Solidworks Agent workspace, in a design conversation
- Typed request routing (Lab): A separate model picks a fixed route for each request, or abstains below 80% confidence. Shadow mode only. Where: How it decides page

## Change a dimension on a copy

> Propose a new value, run it on a copy, check the result independently, then accept or reject. Your original is never touched.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 8 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/change-a-dimension-safely

### You need

- The app activated
- One SOLIDWORKS session with a clean, saved, rebuilt part active
- The part has one configuration and no equations or external references

### You'll come away with

- Capture a part into a worksheet
- Propose and review a dimension change
- Read the evidence before you accept

### Step by step

1. **Capture the part.** Open the Worksheets tab and write the change brief. Choose Capture current part and references: it pins copies of the source and records their fingerprints, so later you can prove what you started from.
Try saying: "Make the plate 12 mm thick for the heavier bracket."
2. **Propose new values.** Pick up to 16 of the captured driving dimensions and enter new positive values in millimetres or degrees. Say why. You can add volume, area or mass limits the result must meet, each with a minimum, a maximum and where the requirement comes from. Then choose Save proposal for review.
3. **Run it on a copy.** Choose Accept plan and execute on copy. The change is made on a new copy, rebuilt and checked; native and STEP outputs are saved and the native file is reopened.
4. **Check it independently.** Choose Import STEP and check in ParaCrux. It measures the output with a separate geometry engine and compares solid count and volume with the native result.
5. **Accept or reject.** Write a result review note. With both checks passed, Accept result is enabled; Reject result needs only the note. Neither changes the original. Choose Export printable worksheet for your records.

### Walkthrough

The values are from a recorded run on 23 September 2026: a 60 × 40 × 10 mm plate made 12 mm thick. The dimension name is typical SOLIDWORKS naming, shown for illustration.

- **You:** Make the plate 12 mm thick for the heavier bracket.
- **Captured:** Part = 60 × 40 × 10 mm plate; Configurations = 1; Source copy = pinned, fingerprint recorded
- Provenance: recorded

- **Proposal:** D1@Boss-Extrude1 = 10 mm → 12 mm; Reason = Heavier bracket; Expected volume = 28,800 mm³
- *60 × 40 × 12 = 28,800 mm³. Adding a volume bound means a wrong result fails loudly.*
- Provenance: calculated

- **Gate:** Review the proposal. Nothing runs until you accept execution.
- Provenance: illustrative

- **Run on a copy:** Rebuild = no errors; Native reopen volume = 28,800 mm³; Original = unchanged
- Provenance: recorded

- **Independent STEP check:** Solids = 1 valid closed body; Quarantined = none; Imported volume = 28,800 mm³; Agreement = native and import match
- Provenance: recorded

- **Gate:** Both checks passed. Write a review note, then accept or reject.
- Provenance: illustrative

- **Agent:** Accepted. The printable worksheet records the source, the change, both measurements and your note.
- Provenance: illustrative

### What it won't do

- One part at a time: no assembly edits, and only parts with one configuration, no equations and no external references.
- The worksheet records are hash-chained local records, not signed identity attestations.
- If a run times out, the outcome is marked uncertain and never replayed automatically.
- Passing checks shows the result matches the stated values and bounds, not that the design is right.
- The printable worksheet's full record includes local file paths. Check it before you share it.

### Covers

- Reviewed dimension changes (Available): Pick up to 16 driving dimensions, set new values, run the change on a copy and check the outputs before you accept. Where: In the app, Worksheets tab

## Change two dimensions, with a volume limit

> Change several dimensions in one reviewed run and state a measurement the result must meet. If it misses, you can't accept it.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 7 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/change-two-dimensions-with-a-limit

### You need

- You have done Change a dimension on a copy
- A clean, saved, rebuilt part with one configuration and no equations or external references

### You'll come away with

- Propose up to 16 dimension changes at once
- Set a volume, area or mass limit with its source
- Know what happens when a limit is missed

### Step by step

1. **Capture the part.** In Worksheets, write the brief and choose Capture current part and references.
Try saying: "Plate 10 to 12 mm thick. Separate block 6 to 8 mm. Keep both solids and their plan sizes."
2. **Propose both changes.** Enter the first change, then use Additional dimension changes (up to 16 total) for the rest. Each must be a captured driving dimension, with a new positive value that differs from the old one.
3. **Add a measurement limit.** Under Required measurement limits, tick volume, area or mass. Enter a Minimum and a Maximum, and where the requirement comes from. Each measurement can be used once.
4. **Run it and read the limit.** Choose Save proposal for review, then Accept plan and execute on copy. The limit is checked after the rebuild and again after the native reopen, and marked pass, fail or unproven.
5. **Accept only a pass.** If every limit passes and the independent STEP check agrees, write your note and choose Accept result. Anything else fails the run, and acceptance is refused.

### Walkthrough

The part, both changes and the 32,000 mm³ result are from a recorded run on 23 September 2026. The limit values and the failing case are examples, labelled as such.

- **Captured:** Body 1 = 60 × 40 mm plate, 10 mm thick; Body 2 = 20 × 20 mm block, 6 mm thick; Volume before = 26,400 mm³
- *24,000 + 2,400 = 26,400 mm³.*
- Provenance: recorded

- **Proposal:** Plate thickness = 10 → 12 mm; Block thickness = 6 → 8 mm; Expected volume = 28,800 + 3,200 = 32,000 mm³
- Provenance: calculated

- **Required measurement limit:** Volume = 31,990 to 32,010 mm³; Source = Analytic prism dimensions
- **Gate:** Save the proposal for review. Nothing runs until you accept execution.
- Provenance: illustrative

- **Run on a copy:** After rebuild = 32,000 mm³ · pass; After native reopen = 32,000 mm³ · pass; STEP check = 2 solids · 32,000 mm³; Original = unchanged
- Provenance: recorded

- **What a miss looks like:** Volume = 31,200 mm³ · fail; Run = failed; Accept result = refused
- *If the block had been left at 6 mm, the result would be 31,200 mm³. That fails the limit, the run is marked failed, and Accept result is refused: 'Verification evidence does not permit acceptance'.*
- Provenance: calculated

### What it won't do

- At most three limits, one each for volume, area and mass. Both bounds and a source are required.
- Limits are optional. Without one, the run checks the dimensions and the STEP import only.
- A limit shows the result meets a number you chose, not that the number is right.

### Covers

- Reviewed dimension changes (Available): Pick up to 16 driving dimensions, set new values, run the change on a copy and check the outputs before you accept. Where: In the app, Worksheets tab

## Work offline with a checked-out seat

> Check out your seat before you lose the connection, and return it when you are back.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 4 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline

### You need

- The app activated on this computer
- An internet connection now, before you go offline

### You'll come away with

- Check out a seat for the days you need
- Return it, or go back to online seats
- Know what still works after it expires

### Step by step

1. **Check out before you go.** Open Licensing. On the ParaCrux Solidworks Agent access card, expand Offline checkout and manual seat controls, set Offline days and choose Check out for offline use. Your company's policy caps the days, and a checkout never runs past your billing period.
2. **Check the date.** The card shows the seat as borrowed, with the date and time it is valid until.
3. **Work offline.** Your seat works without a connection until that time. Agent conversations still need the internet, because the AI model runs online.
4. **Come back and return it.** Back online, choose Return seat to free it for someone else. Returning also switches off Use a seat automatically when online for this product; choose Use online seat when you want one again. If the connection drops while returning, the seat is retired on this computer first; choose Return seat again to finish.
5. **Moving to another computer.** Return the seat in the app first, and leave Use a seat automatically when online switched off on the old computer, or it will take a seat again whenever it runs online. An administrator cannot release a checked-out seat for you.

### Walkthrough

The card text and status lines are recorded from the desktop 0.1.9 qualification run on a test account. The number of days is an example.

- **Licensing:** Page = Activate with your code. Use seats automatically online, or check one out before working offline.; Card = Product available. Use an online seat or check out for offline work.
- Provenance: recorded

- **Offline checkout and manual seat controls:** Offline days = 1; Action = Check out for offline use
- Provenance: illustrative

- **Status:** Seat = local-demo · borrowed seat valid until 02/10/2026, 00:30:04.
- *local-demo is the test organisation; yours shows your company.*
- Provenance: recorded

- **Agent:** Seat retired locally. Retry Return seat to finish releasing it, or upload the return file at paracrux.com/offline.
- *Shown if the connection fails while you return the seat.*
- Provenance: real-code

- **After expiry:** New part changes = need a seat; Inspecting and saving existing work = still available; With automatic seat use on = an online seat is taken once connected and one is free
- Provenance: real-code

### What it won't do

- A checkout has no grace period. When it expires, new part changes wait for a seat.
- Checking out, returning and using an online seat all need a connection, and a free seat at that moment.
- If your computer's clock moves backwards, new edits are blocked until you correct it.
- A checked-out seat counts against your company's seats until it is returned or expires.
- A checkout starts and ends online. For a computer that is never online, use offline licence files.

### Covers

- Offline seat checkout (Available): Check a seat out for offline use for a set number of days, then return it when you are back online. Where: In the app, Licensing → Offline checkout and manual seat controls

## Licence a computer with no internet

> Carry two signed files between an offline computer and a connected one, so an air-gapped workstation can hold a seat.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 5 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet

### You need

- The desktop app on the offline computer
- A second computer with internet, and your My account sign-in
- Removable media to carry two small files
- An active subscription with a free seat

### You'll come away with

- Create a request and import a licence
- Renew it before it ends
- Free the seat with a return file

### Step by step

1. **Know which offline you need.** Check out for offline use borrows an online seat for 1 to 30 days and needs a connection to start and end. Offline licence files are for a computer that is never online.
2. **Create the request.** On the offline computer, open Licensing and expand This computer has no internet. Choose Create request file and save paracrux-offline-request.json. Copy it to a computer with internet. A request is valid for 7 days and works once, and a new one replaces an unanswered one.
3. **Issue the licence.** On the connected computer, sign in at paracrux.com/offline. Under Issue an offline licence, upload the request, set Days and choose Issue licence and download. The licence ends after those days, or at the end of your billing period if that is sooner.
4. **Import it.** Copy the licence file back. In Licensing, choose Import licence file. The card shows a borrowed seat and the date it is valid until. A licence works only on the computer that made the request, and only once.
5. **Renew or return.** Before it ends, make a new request and repeat. To free the seat sooner, choose Return seat to a file, confirm, and upload paracrux-offline-return.json under Return an offline seat on paracrux.com/offline.

### Walkthrough

The labels, file names and messages are the app's and the website's own. The computer, dates and days are examples.

- Provenance: real-code

### What it won't do

- CueCrux Credits, the hosted design matrix, support requests and app updates need internet, so they don't work on an offline-licensed computer. A local model can run the Agent there.
- The seat stays in use for your company until the licence ends or its return file is uploaded.
- Each request and each return file works once.
- Days are capped at the maximum the page offers, 30 unless your licensing is set otherwise.

### Covers

- Offline licence files (Available): Licence a computer that is never online by carrying signed files to and from a connected computer. Where: Licensing, This computer has no internet; paracrux.com/offline

## Update, and read what changed first

> Updates arrive signed. Read the notes before you install, and save your work first.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 3 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/update-the-app

### You need

- The app installed

### You'll come away with

- Know when the app checks for updates
- Read the notes before installing
- Install without losing work

### Step by step

1. **Let it check.** The app checks on launch and every four hours. When there is an update, it tells you: App update is available in Settings, General.
2. **Read what changed.** Open Settings, What's new. Versions are marked Installed or Available update. Notes for the installed version come with the app, so they work offline. The same notes are on the website's Release notes page.
3. **Save everything.** Save your editor, SOLIDWORKS and terminal work. The app closes to install.
4. **Install.** In Settings, General, App updates, choose Install update and restart. The app warns you if the editor has unsaved changes. The download is verified against its signature before it installs.
5. **If you change your mind.** Cancel, and your work stays open. If an install fails, your current version is still there.

### Walkthrough

Every message is the app's own wording. Version numbers are placeholders.

- **Agent:** App update X is available in Settings → General.

- **Gate:** Install update and restart? Save any editor, SolidWorks and terminal work before continuing. The app will close and restart.
- Provenance: real-code

- **Agent:** Downloading and verifying the signed update…
- Provenance: real-code

### What it won't do

- There is no rollback. A fix arrives as a newer version.
- Updates come from one stable channel; there is no setting to choose another.
- The first installer does not yet carry a Windows publisher signature. Updates inside the app are signed and verified.
- If a version is withdrawn, the app tells you not to install it, or that your installed version has been withdrawn.

### Covers

> Open a request from your account or the app, choose what to attach, and follow replies. It works with or without an active subscription.

Status: Available · Level: Everyday · About 5 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/get-help

### You need

- A customer account

### You'll come away with

- Open a request with the right topic
- Attach only what you choose to
- Follow and close a request

### Step by step

1. **Choose where.** On the website, open My account, Support, New request. In the app, choose Get help in the status bar at the bottom of the window. It is also in Crux Plus, and under Settings, General, Help & support.
2. **Connect the computer if it isn't activated.** An activated computer connects on its own. Otherwise, in My account choose Connect a computer, name it, and create a support connection code. Paste it into Get help within 15 minutes. The code is shown once and only works for support.
3. **Write the request.** Give a Short summary, pick a Topic and say what you need help with. Choose Send request. You get a reference starting SUP-.
Try saying: "Activation code rejected on a new laptop after returning my seat."
4. **Choose what to attach.** From the app, the version and platform always go. Diagnostics, a kernel log excerpt, a viewport image and the current agent session are optional and unticked. The session report holds the selected design chat's conversation and tool outcomes, with secrets, local paths, emails and phone numbers replaced, and you can edit it. Review exactly what will be sent, then tick your agreement. CAD files are never attached automatically.
5. **Follow it through.** Requests move through Received, With support, Waiting for you, Resolved and Closed. Use This solved my problem, Reopen, or Ask for a person. A resolved request closes after 14 days.

### Walkthrough

Field names, topics and statuses are the app's own. The request, its reference and the reply are examples.

- **New request:** Short summary = Activation code rejected on a new laptop; Topic = Activation or seats; What do you need help with? = I returned my seat on the old laptop, then…

- Provenance: illustrative

- **SUP-1042:** Status = Waiting for you; From = ParaCrux support
- *A reply from support moves the request to Waiting for you; your reply moves it back to With support.*
- Provenance: illustrative

### What it won't do

- There is no guaranteed response time.
- On the website, add attachments after sending: PNG, JPEG, PDF, TXT, LOG, CSV, MD or JSON, up to 5 MB each. CAD documents are not accepted.
- Emails about a request carry only its reference and a link, never the message text.
- The app does not notify you of replies; choose Refresh or open the conversation.
- Passwords, activation codes and card numbers are removed from what you write before it is saved.
- Session and kernel excerpts together are capped at 20,000 characters, and a session report needs a design chat selected.
- If Support does not appear in your account or app yet, email support@paracrux.com.

### Covers

- Support tickets (Available): Open a ticket from your account or from the app, attach screenshots, logs or a report of the current Agent session, and follow replies. Where: My account → Support; in the app, status bar → Get help, Crux Plus → Get help, or Settings → General → Help & support

## Decide what the Agent can send

> Design context stays on your computer until you allow it. See what goes, choose where it is processed, and switch it off again.

Status: Available · Level: Deeper · About 5 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/share-design-context

### You need

- The app activated

### You'll come away with

- Find the sharing switch and know its default
- Preview the context before you send
- Know which parts of a design are and aren't sent

### Step by step

1. **Find the switch.** Open Settings, Agent API. Allow sending design context to OpenAI when I press Send is off by default. While it is off, Send is disabled, and the conversation offers Enable design-context sharing, which switches it on in one click
2. **Preview what goes.** On a design's Instructions tab, choose Preview. It shows the context the Agent is given with each message.
3. **Know what is in it.** Your message; the design's instructions, intent, numbers and titles; references by name, kind and fingerprint, never their contents; the latest worksheet's dimensions, measurements and plan; up to 12 earlier turns of the conversation; and the results of tools the Agent runs.
4. **Choose where it is processed.** With OpenAI API (your own key), pick EU (eligible API project), the default, or Global, under Settings, Agent API. CueCrux Credits always use global processing. OpenAI Subs follow your ChatGPT account's policy.
5. **Switch it off.** Untick the setting. The app confirms: Design-context sharing disabled. Nothing more is sent until you allow it again.

### Walkthrough

The setting, its default and the field names are the app's own. The design and its values are an example.

> What leaves your machine, how each step reserves its cost, and where a job always stops.

Status: Available · Level: Deeper · About 5 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit

### You need

- A paid seat

### You'll come away with

- Know the order credit is spent in
- Follow one job step by step
- Know the two limits that stop every job

### Step by step

1. **Know your balances.** Each paid seat includes £5 of managed AI credit per UTC month, spent first and refilled on the 1st. Top-ups of £10, £25 or £50 are spent next and carry forward. My account shows both as meters.
2. **Know what is sent.** Nothing is sent until you tick Allow sending design context to OpenAI when I press Send, in Settings, Agent API. It is off by default, and Send stays disabled until you allow it. Then your message goes with the design intent and instructions, reference names and fingerprints (never file contents), the latest worksheet inspection and the results of tools the Agent runs. To see the context, open the Instructions tab and choose Preview.
3. **Follow a step.** Each step makes at most one tool call. Before it runs, credit is held; afterwards the hold settles to actual usage and the rest is returned. The app lists its rates under Settings, Agent API: per million tokens, £40 input, £4 cached input, £50 cache writes and £200 output, including reasoning.
4. **Know where it stops.** A job stops at £2 or eight steps, whichever comes first. It also stops when an outcome is uncertain, and it never retries a CAD step on its own.

### Walkthrough

The limits and rates are the app's own. Token counts and held amounts are examples, so each cost is calculated from example usage, not measured.

- **You:** Find a 50 mm square tube, then make me a 100 × 50 × 25 mm block.
- **Balances before:** Included this month = £5.00; Top-ups = £0.00; Job cap = £2.00 or 8 steps
- Provenance: illustrative

- **Tool call:** `design_profile_search` {"family":"square_hollow_section","query":"50x50"}
- **Step 1:** Tokens (example) = 5,000 in · 300 out; Cost at the app's rates = £0.20 + £0.06 = £0.26; Held first (example) = £0.60; Returned = £0.34
- Provenance: calculated

- **Tool call:** `solidworks_create_box` {"width":0.1,"depth":0.05,"height":0.025}
- **Step 2:** Tokens (example) = 6,000 in · 400 out; Cost at the app's rates = £0.24 + £0.08 = £0.32; Held first (example) = £0.60; Returned = £0.28
- Provenance: calculated

- **Agent:** Done in two steps. Three sizes found; the block is saved and checked.
- **Job total:** Spent = £0.58; Left this month = £4.42; Job cap never reached = £2.00
- *Included credit is always spent before top-ups.*
- Provenance: calculated

### What it won't do

- Managed AI uses OpenAI with global processing; see the privacy notice.
- Unused included credit does not roll over; top-ups do.
- A cancelled step may still incur a charge if it was already running.

### Covers

- Managed AI credit (Available): Each paid seat includes £5 of AI credit per UTC month; optional £10, £25 and £50 top-ups carry forward. Where: My account → Credits; rates in the app under Settings → Agent API
- What leaves your workstation (Available): Model files stay local; design context is sent only after you allow it in Agent settings, and you can preview it first. Where: In the app, Settings → Agent API; Instructions → Preview
- Job limits (Available): One tool call per step, at most eight steps and £2 per job; credit is reserved per step and unused credit returned. Where: Every managed AI job

- A model server with an OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API on this computer or your network, such as Ollama, llama.cpp or LM Studio

### You'll come away with

- Connect the Agent to your own model
- Know what is sent, and where
- Know where it stops

### Step by step

1. **Start your model server.** Run it on this computer or another on your own network. The app accepts only local addresses (localhost, 127.x, 10.x, 172.16 to 172.31, 192.168.x), over http or https, with no user name or password in the address.
2. **Connect it.** Open Agent settings. Under Connect using, choose Local model · offline. Enter the Endpoint, such as http://127.0.0.1:11434/v1, and the Model exactly as your server lists it, then choose Save connection. There is no API key.
3. **Check the label.** Beside Send, the connection shows Local model and the model's name.
4. **Know what is sent.** Each step sends the conversation and the Agent's tool list to your endpoint. Nothing goes to CueCrux or OpenAI, and no AI credit is used.
5. **Seats still apply.** The Agent uses the same SOLIDWORKS tools as with any connection. Reading the open model needs no seat; changes need a valid seat, as always. On a computer that is never online, that means an offline licence.
6. **Expect it to be slower.** A step can take minutes: the app waits up to 5 minutes for each and stops after 8. The hosted design matrix is not offered. Local models vary, so check the answers.

### Walkthrough

The labels and messages are the app's own. The endpoint and model name are the app's placeholders.

- **Agent settings:** Connect using = Local model · offline; Endpoint = http://127.0.0.1:11434/v1; Model = qwen2.5:14b-instruct

- Provenance: real-code

- **Agent:** The local model did not answer. Check that its server is running and the endpoint is right.
- *Shown if the server is not running or the endpoint is wrong.*
- Provenance: real-code

### What it won't do

- The app does not install or run the model server for you.
- Only addresses on this computer or a private network are accepted.
- At most 8 steps per job and one tool call per step, with no automatic retry.
- The hosted design matrix is not offered with a local model.
- Answer quality depends on the model you run. Treat CAD results as only what the tools record.

### Covers

- Local model connection (Available): Run the Agent with a model server on your own computer or network; nothing is sent to CueCrux or OpenAI. Where: Agent settings, Connect using, Local model · offline

## When the Agent stops or asks

> Why a job stops, what each message means and what to do next. It stops rather than guess, and never retries a CAD step on its own.

Status: Available · Level: Deeper · About 6 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/when-the-agent-stops

### You need

- You have run at least one Agent job

### You'll come away with

- Tell a refused request from an uncertain one
- Know what to check before you continue
- Know the limits that end a job

### Step by step

1. **It asks when something is missing.** If a size, unit or requirement is missing or ambiguous, the Agent is told to ask rather than assume. Answer and send again.
2. **Rejected: nothing happened.** If a request fails its checks before any file or SOLIDWORKS call, it is recorded as failed and you can simply try again with corrected inputs.
3. **Uncertain: check before you continue.** If a CAD step may have had side effects, the job stops and says so. Open the action's record and the output folder, check what exists, and decide yourself. The Agent will not try another CAD action in that message.
4. **Limits end a job.** A job ends at eight steps or its £2 ceiling, and each message allows at most 16 tool calls. Send another message to continue.
5. **If the app closes mid-job.** On restart, anything that was running is marked uncertain. Check it as above; nothing is replayed.

### Walkthrough

Each message is quoted from the app. The situations that trigger them are examples. The routing frames are recorded benchmark answers from a layer that runs in shadow mode.

- **You:** Open an existing part, make the lower hole 5 mm bigger in diameter, then produce a standard ISO drawing with a section view.
- **Route (shadow mode):** Leaning = unsupported; Confidence = 0.64, 0.54; Floor = 0.80; Result = Abstained: you decide
- *A recorded benchmark case. Below the floor, the routing layer abstains instead of choosing.*
- Provenance: recorded

- **Agent:** CAD action outcome is uncertain; inspect its recorded evidence before continuing.
- *Shown when a CAD step may have had side effects.*
- Provenance: real-code

- **Agent:** CAD operation already attempted or a previous action is uncertain. Inspect the action record; no automatic replay.
- *Shown if another CAD action is attempted in the same message.*
- Provenance: real-code

- **Agent:** Tool limit reached for this message; send another message to continue

- **Agent:** App stopped during dispatch; provider usage may have occurred. No automatic retry.
- **Gate:** Check the action record and the output folder, then decide what to do next.
- *Shown after a restart for anything that was running.*
- Provenance: real-code

### What it won't do

- An uncertain step may still have used credit; its hold is kept until usage is known.
- The routing layer shown here runs in shadow mode. It records its choice but does not steer the Agent yet.

### Covers

- Job limits (Available): One tool call per step, at most eight steps and £2 per job; credit is reserved per step and unused credit returned. Where: Every managed AI job
- Typed request routing (Lab): A separate model picks a fixed route for each request, or abstains below 80% confidence. Shadow mode only. Where: How it decides page

## Cancel, or ask for a refund

> Stop the next renewal from My account, know what keeps working until the end date, and how refunds and AI credit are handled.

Status: Available · Level: Deeper · About 4 minutes · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/cancel-and-refunds

### You need

- Your My account sign-in
- Your Paddle receipt, if you want a refund

### You'll come away with

- Stop the next renewal
- Know what works until the end date, and after it
- Ask for a refund in the right place
- Know what happens to AI credit

### Step by step

1. **Cancelling and refunds are separate.** Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not refund the rest of the period you have paid for. A refund is a separate request to Paddle, who take payments for us as merchant of record.
2. **Stop the next renewal.** Sign in to My account and choose Billing & cancellation. It opens Paddle's page for your subscription, where you cancel. The management link on your Paddle receipt goes to the same place. Do it before the renewal date to stop that payment. The desktop app has no cancel button.
3. **Check the end date.** Back in My account, the subscription shows the date it is scheduled to cancel. Your seats keep working until then, and so does your included AI credit.
4. **After the end date.** Licensing in the app says there is no active product access. You can still open, inspect and save your existing work, and the Files preview stays free. An offline checkout never runs past the end date. Keep your own copies of your work.
5. **Asking for a refund.** Use Paddle's buyer support or the help link on your receipt, and give the transaction reference. Our support can help you find the transaction or sort out a product problem. There is no blanket no-refunds rule: Paddle's Refund Policy and your statutory rights apply. A refund that reverses the payment for your licence can end it.
6. **Your AI credit.** The £5 included each month comes with a paid seat, so it stops when the subscription ends. Credit packs you bought are not removed by cancelling, but need an active subscription to use. If a pack is refunded, its credit is removed; if some was already spent, AI spending pauses until support settles the balance. Your card is not silently charged to cover it.

### Walkthrough

The My account and Licensing text is the website's and the app's own. The dates are examples, and Paddle's page is shown only in outline because its wording is Paddle's.

- **My account · Subscription:** Button = Billing & cancellation ↗; Opens = Paddle's page for this subscription
- Provenance: real-code

- **Paddle:** You choose = cancel the subscription; Takes effect = at the end of the current billing period
- *Paddle's own page; its labels may differ.*
- Provenance: illustrative

- **My account · Subscription:** Notice = Your subscription is scheduled to cancel on 28/10/2026. Seats stay available until then.
- *The date is an example.*
- Provenance: real-code

- **After 28/10/2026:** Licensing = Your company · No active product access. Check your subscription.; Inspecting and saving existing work = still available; Files preview = free
- Provenance: real-code

- **AI credit:** Included £5 a month = ends with the paid seat; Credit packs you bought = kept; usable again with an active subscription; Refunded pack = its credit is removed
- *From the published terms (section 5.8) and the Refunds & cancellation page.*
- Provenance: illustrative

### What it won't do

- Cancelling does not refund the unused part of the current period on its own.
- Refunds are decided by Paddle under its Refund Policy and the law; this lesson does not promise one.
- Credit packs are account-bound service credit, not money, and cannot be used without an active subscription.
- Nobody can cancel for you from the desktop app; it happens in My account or through your Paddle receipt.

# When something goes wrong

> What the ParaCrux Solidworks Agent's messages mean, and what to do about each. Reviewed 2026-10-01. Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix

Each message is quoted exactly as the app or website shows it. "…" stands for a part the app fills in.

## Activating the app

### "Licensing request refused (…). Check credentials, seat availability and subscription."

Where: Licensing, on the Solidworks Agent access card. The same message can appear in a design conversation when a paid request is refused. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#licensing-request-refused

The licensing service said no. The app shows only the status code in brackets, never the service's own reason, so the code is your clue. 401 Unauthorized: the activation code is wrong or has expired. 403 Forbidden: the code belongs to another computer or, in a design conversation, there is no active paid subscription with a seat on this computer. 409 Conflict: every seat your company has bought is in use. 402 Payment Required: your AI credit cannot cover the request, or too many requests went in one minute.

1. 401 Unauthorized: an activation code works for 15 minutes after it is generated. In My account, generate a new one and paste it straight away.
2. 403 Forbidden while activating: a code binds to the first computer that uses it. Generate a new code for this computer.
3. 403 Forbidden in a design conversation: CueCrux Credits needs an active paid subscription, not a trial, and a valid seat on this computer. Check that Licensing shows the seat as valid and My account shows the subscription as active.
4. 409 Conflict: all seats are taken. Choose Return seat in Licensing on a computer that doesn't need one, or add a seat in My account. A checked-out seat stays taken until it is returned or its checkout ends.
5. 402 Payment Required: refresh credit balance in Agent settings and top up in My account if it is low. If you sent many requests quickly, wait a minute and send again.

### "Invalid activation code for this product. Request a new code from your account or administrator."

Where: Licensing, after you choose Activate. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#invalid-activation-code

What was pasted is not an activation code for this product. Codes start with PCX1., each product has its own, and a code cut short when it was copied is rejected too.

1. In My account, under Activation codes, generate a code for the Solidworks Agent.
2. Copy the whole code in one go and paste it into Activation code for this product on the Solidworks Agent access card.
3. Choose Activate Solidworks Agent within 15 minutes of generating the code.

Related: [Install the app and activate it](https://paracrux.com/docs/install-and-activate.md)

### "This computer is not enrolled."

Where: Licensing, on the Solidworks Agent access card. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#not-enrolled

This computer has not been activated yet. The Files preview works without a licence; the Agent needs activating first.

1. In My account, generate an activation code.
2. Paste it into Activation code for this product and choose Activate Solidworks Agent. Online access starts automatically when a seat is free.

Related: [Install the app and activate it](https://paracrux.com/docs/install-and-activate.md)

### "Licensing server changed. Restore the enrolled server before using or returning this seat."

Where: Licensing, or when the app tries to use a seat. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#licensing-server-changed

The app is pointed at a different licensing service from the one this computer was activated with, so it will not use or return the seat it holds.

1. If you or your IT team changed the app's licensing server setting, change it back.
2. Do not delete the app's local licensing data to get round this; that does not free the seat.
3. If nothing was changed on purpose, ask support and include the message.

### "Sign-in expired. Start again."

Where: Licensing, after Sign in with your ParaCrux account. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#sign-in-expired

Nobody approved the request in the browser within 10 minutes, so it lapsed.

1. Choose Sign in with your ParaCrux account again and approve the new code on paracrux.com within 10 minutes.

Related: [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md)

### "Sign-in was declined in the browser."

Where: Licensing, after Sign in with your ParaCrux account. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#sign-in-declined

Someone chose Deny on paracrux.com for this computer's code. A declined request cannot be approved later.

1. If that was a mistake, start again from Licensing and approve the new code.
2. If you did not deny it, check who else can sign in to your account.

Related: [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md)

### "Approved, but this computer could not finish activating: …"

Where: Licensing, after you approve in the browser. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#approved-but-could-not-finish

The request was approved, but the computer could not complete activation. The reason follows the colon.

1. Read the reason; if it names a seat or subscription problem, the matching entry on this page applies.
2. Start sign-in again. If it fails the same way, ask support and include the message.

Related: [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md)

### "Sign-in refused (…). Try again shortly."

Where: Licensing, when you choose Sign in with your ParaCrux account. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#sign-in-refused

The licensing service turned the request down; the status code in brackets says why. 429 Too Many Requests means too many sign-ins were started from your network in a short time.

1. Wait a few minutes and try again.
2. If it keeps happening, paste an activation code instead, under Use an activation code instead.

Related: [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md)

### "Licensing service unavailable. Check the internet connection, or activate offline."

Where: Licensing, when you choose Sign in with your ParaCrux account. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#sign-in-service-unavailable

The app could not reach paracrux.com.

1. Check the connection, and that your company's proxy or firewall allows paracrux.com.
2. If this computer is never online, use offline licence files instead.

Related: [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md), [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "Windows could not open the default browser (error …). Check the default app for HTTPS links and try again."

Where: Licensing, after Sign in with your ParaCrux account. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#browser-did-not-open

Windows has no working default app for web links. The app also shows the address to open yourself.

1. Open the address the app shows in any browser and approve the code there.
2. To fix it for next time, set a default browser in Windows Settings, Apps, Default apps.

Related: [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md)

### "No pending sign-in has that code. Check the code in ParaCrux, or start again"

Where: paracrux.com/activate. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#no-pending-sign-in

The code was typed wrongly, or the request has expired, been used or been declined.

1. Compare the code with the one in the app; letters only, the hyphen is optional.
2. If the app says the sign-in expired, start again there.

Related: [Activate by signing in from the app](https://paracrux.com/docs/sign-in-from-the-app.md)

## Seats and working offline

### "A valid connector seat is required. Open Licensing to activate or renew this computer. Inspection and saving existing work remain available."

Where: A design conversation, or the result of a SOLIDWORKS action. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#connector-seat-required

This computer holds no valid seat right now. It may never have been activated, or its seat was returned, or a checkout ended. You can still look at models and save your work.

1. Open Licensing and read the Solidworks Agent access card.
2. If it says Product available, choose Use online seat, and switch on Use a seat automatically when online so it happens on its own next time.
3. If it says the computer is not enrolled, activate it with a code from My account.

Related: [Install the app and activate it](https://paracrux.com/docs/install-and-activate.md), [Work offline with a checked-out seat](https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline.md)

### "… · Product available. Use an online seat or check out for offline work."

Where: Licensing, on the Solidworks Agent access card, after your company's name. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#product-available

Your subscription is fine, but this computer is not holding a seat. This is normal after Return seat, which also switches off taking a seat automatically.

1. Choose Use online seat to work now.
2. Switch on Use a seat automatically when online if you want the app to take a seat whenever it runs online.
3. To work without a connection, expand Offline checkout and manual seat controls and choose Check out for offline use.

Related: [Work offline with a checked-out seat](https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline.md)

### "… · No active product access. Check your subscription."

Where: Licensing, on the Solidworks Agent access card, after your company's name. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#no-active-product-access

This computer is activated, but your company has no active Solidworks Agent subscription: it has ended, a payment has failed, or a new payment is still being confirmed.

1. In My account, choose Refresh payment status and read the subscription status.
2. If a payment failed, update the payment method under Billing & cancellation. Seats come back once the payment is collected.
3. Then open Licensing again; with Use a seat automatically when online switched on, the seat is taken for you.

Related: [Install the app and activate it](https://paracrux.com/docs/install-and-activate.md), [Cancel, or ask for a refund](https://paracrux.com/docs/cancel-and-refunds.md)

### "Your last payment did not go through, so seats are paused. Update your payment method under Billing & cancellation; seats return as soon as Paddle collects the payment."

Where: My account. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#payment-did-not-go-through

Paddle, who takes payments for us, could not collect the latest renewal. Until it does, your seats cannot be used.

1. Open Billing & cancellation and update the payment method.
2. Once Paddle collects the payment, choose Refresh payment status; the seats return on their own.
3. For a question about the charge itself, use the help link on your Paddle receipt.

Related: [Cancel, or ask for a refund](https://paracrux.com/docs/cancel-and-refunds.md)

### "System clock moved backwards. Correct it before using a seat."

Where: Licensing, on the Solidworks Agent access card. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#system-clock-moved-backwards

The computer's clock is earlier than a time the app has already seen. Seats are time-limited, so the app will not use one until the clock is right.

1. In Windows, open Date & time settings, switch on Set time automatically and choose Sync now.
2. Open Licensing again.

Related: [Work offline with a checked-out seat](https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline.md)

### "Seat retired locally. Retry Return seat to finish releasing it…"

Where: Licensing, on the Solidworks Agent access card. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#seat-retired-locally

You chose Return seat and this computer has stopped using the seat, but the licensing service did not confirm it, usually because the connection dropped. Until it does, the seat still counts as taken for your company.

1. When you are back online, choose Return seat again.
2. If it still does not finish, ask support and include the message.

Related: [Work offline with a checked-out seat](https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline.md)

### "Seat return requires reconciliation; retry Return"

Where: Licensing, after Return seat. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#seat-return-reconciliation

The licensing service did not confirm the return. The same as above: the seat is retired on this computer but not yet freed for others.

1. Choose Return seat again once you have a steady connection.

Related: [Work offline with a checked-out seat](https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline.md)

### "Complete the pending seat return first"

Where: Licensing, when you activate, choose Use online seat or check out. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#complete-pending-return

A seat return on this computer has not finished. The app finishes it before taking another seat, so seats are never counted twice.

1. Choose Return seat and wait for it to finish.
2. Then try again.

Related: [Work offline with a checked-out seat](https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline.md)

### "Borrow days must be 1–30 and within company policy"

Where: Licensing, under Offline checkout and manual seat controls. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#borrow-days

The number in Offline days is outside what the app accepts. Your company's policy can set a lower limit, and a checkout never runs past your billing period.

1. Set Offline days to a whole number from 1 to 30, then choose Check out for offline use again.

Related: [Work offline with a checked-out seat](https://paracrux.com/docs/work-offline.md)

### "The offline request is more than 7 days old. Create a new one in ParaCrux"

Where: paracrux.com/offline, after you upload a request. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#offline-request-too-old

Requests are valid for 7 days.

1. On the offline computer, choose Create request file again and upload the new file.

Related: [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "This offline request has already been used. Create a new one in ParaCrux"

Where: paracrux.com/offline, after you upload a request. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#offline-request-already-used

Each request can be answered once. If you lost the licence it produced, the seat it took stays in use until that licence ends.

1. Create a new request on the offline computer and upload that.

Related: [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "This licence answers a different or already imported request. Create a new request file and use the licence issued for it."

Where: Licensing, after Import licence file. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#licence-answers-different-request

The licence was issued for an older request, or it has already been imported. A newer request replaces an older unanswered one.

1. Import the licence issued for this computer's latest request.
2. If in doubt, create a new request and issue a fresh licence from it.

Related: [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "This licence belongs to another computer"

Where: Licensing, after Import licence file. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#licence-belongs-to-another-computer

A licence works only on the computer that made the request.

1. Import it on the computer that created the request, or create a request on this one.

Related: [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "The licence file has been altered"

Where: Licensing, after Import licence file. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#licence-file-altered

The file's signature no longer matches its contents, for example after it was edited.

1. If the page that issued it is still open, choose Download again and copy the new file across without editing it.
2. Otherwise create a new request on the offline computer and issue a new licence.

Related: [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "The licence is not valid on this computer now. Check the licence file and the system clock."

Where: Licensing, after Import licence file. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#licence-not-valid-now

The licence has expired, or this computer's clock is outside the dates it covers.

1. Check the Windows date and time.
2. If the licence has expired, create a new request and issue a new licence.

Related: [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "This computer was activated offline. Use Return seat to a file under This computer has no internet."

Where: Licensing, after Return seat. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#activated-offline-use-return-file

A seat from a licence file can only be returned with a return file.

1. Under This computer has no internet, choose Return seat to a file and upload the file at paracrux.com/offline.

Related: [Licence a computer with no internet](https://paracrux.com/docs/license-a-computer-without-internet.md)

### "This computer was activated offline. Sign in to use online services."

Where: Agent settings, a design conversation with CueCrux Credits, or Get help. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#activated-offline-sign-in

Online services such as CueCrux Credits and support requests need a computer activated online.

1. If this computer can go online, sign in from Licensing to use them.
2. To run the Agent without internet, connect a local model in Agent settings.

## Connecting to SOLIDWORKS

### "SolidWorks is not running on this computer. Start SolidWorks, open a document, and retry."

Where: A design conversation, a worksheet inspection or a SOLIDWORKS action. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#solidworks-not-running

The Agent works through the SOLIDWORKS on this computer, and it is not open.

1. Start SOLIDWORKS. You can click the SOLIDWORKS status in the app bar when it says not running.
2. Open the part you want to work on, then ask again.

Related: [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md)

### "No document is open in SolidWorks."

Where: A design conversation or a worksheet inspection. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#no-document-open

SOLIDWORKS is running, but no part or assembly is open, so there is nothing to read.

1. Open the document in SOLIDWORKS and make it the active window, then ask again.

Related: [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md), [Change a dimension on a copy](https://paracrux.com/docs/change-a-dimension-safely.md)

### "SolidWorks is running (process …) but has not offered its API yet. It may still be starting, or a dialog may be open; wait for it to finish, close any dialogs, and retry."

Where: A design conversation, a worksheet inspection or a SOLIDWORKS action. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#solidworks-not-offered-api

SOLIDWORKS is open but not ready to take requests. It is usually still starting, or waiting for you to answer a dialog.

1. Let SOLIDWORKS finish starting.
2. Close any open dialog in SOLIDWORKS, including ones behind other windows.
3. Ask again.

Related: [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md)

### "SolidWorks is running (process …) but its API is not reachable, and ParaCrux is running as administrator. Windows keeps elevated and normal programs apart: start ParaCrux and SolidWorks the same way (both normal, or both as administrator)."

Where: A design conversation, a worksheet inspection or a SOLIDWORKS action. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#solidworks-running-as-administrator

One program was started as administrator and the other was not, and Windows will not let them talk to each other.

1. Close the ParaCrux app.
2. Start it the same way as SOLIDWORKS. Normally that means neither as administrator: check Run as administrator is not ticked on either shortcut.
3. Ask again.

Related: [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md)

### "SolidWorks is running but not reachable yet. It may still be starting, or it runs as a different Windows user or elevation from ParaCrux."

Where: The SOLIDWORKS status in the app bar, when it says SolidWorks starting or unreachable. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#solidworks-not-reachable-yet

The app can see SOLIDWORKS running but cannot connect to it. Either it is still starting, or it was started by a different Windows user or with different administrator rights.

1. Wait for SOLIDWORKS to finish starting.
2. If it stays like this, close SOLIDWORKS and start it again as the same Windows user as the ParaCrux app, and the same way: both as administrator or neither.

Related: [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md)

### "SolidWorks is not installed on this computer, or its application registration is missing."

Where: The SOLIDWORKS status in the app bar, when it says SolidWorks not found. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#solidworks-not-installed

The app cannot find SOLIDWORKS on this computer. The Agent needs your own, separately licensed SOLIDWORKS installed on the same computer.

1. Check SOLIDWORKS is installed on this computer, not only on a server or another computer.
2. If it is, repair the SOLIDWORKS installation, which restores its registration, then restart the ParaCrux app.

Related: [Install the app and activate it](https://paracrux.com/docs/install-and-activate.md)

### "SolidWorks API interop library was not found: no running SolidWorks, no SOLIDWORKS 20xx\Setup registry entry and no default 2024-2026 installation folder has api\redist\SolidWorks.Interop.sldworks.dll."

Where: A design conversation, a worksheet inspection or a SOLIDWORKS action. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#solidworks-api-library-not-found

The app could not find the files it uses to talk to SOLIDWORKS. It looks in the running SOLIDWORKS first, then the installation's registry entry, then the default folders for SOLIDWORKS 2024 to 2026.

1. Start SOLIDWORKS, open a document and try again; a running SOLIDWORKS is the first place the app looks.
2. If it still fails, ask support with your SOLIDWORKS version and where it is installed. Compatibility with each version is still being qualified.

Related: [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md)

### "SolidWorks did not respond within … seconds. Inspect the action record and any saved outputs before another attempt."

Where: A design conversation, a worksheet run or a SOLIDWORKS action. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#solidworks-did-not-respond

SOLIDWORKS took too long to answer, so the app stopped waiting. The action may have finished, partly finished or not run at all, which is why the app does not try again on its own.

1. Look at the action in the conversation and at any copy or file it was writing.
2. Check SOLIDWORKS for an open dialog or a long rebuild, and let it finish.
3. Only then ask again, so the change is not made twice.

## AI connection and credit

### "Activate a paid seat and refresh credit balance in Agent settings."

Where: Under Send in a design conversation, with CueCrux Credits selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#activate-a-paid-seat

Send is off because CueCrux Credits needs a valid paid seat on this computer and an available balance above £0.

1. Check Licensing shows a valid seat.
2. In Agent settings, refresh credit balance. If Available credit is £0.00, top up in My account or wait for your included credit to refill on the 1st.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "Activate or renew a Solidworks Agent seat at paracrux.com first"

Where: Agent settings, or a design conversation, with CueCrux Credits selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#renew-seat-for-ai

CueCrux Credits was used without a live seat on this computer.

1. Open Licensing and take a seat with Use online seat, or activate the computer if it is not enrolled.
2. Refresh credit balance in Agent settings and send again.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "Enable design-context sharing in Agent settings first"

Where: A design conversation, with CueCrux Credits selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#enable-design-context-sharing

Nothing is sent to the AI model until you allow it, and sending is off.

1. Tick Allow sending design context to OpenAI when I press Send in Agent settings. It explains exactly what is sent.
2. Send again.

Related: [Decide what the Agent can send](https://paracrux.com/docs/share-design-context.md)

### "Managed design context exceeds 11 KB; the remaining budget is reserved for tool evidence. Start a new conversation or shorten the design context."

Where: A design conversation, with CueCrux Credits selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#managed-context-too-large

The starting conversation and design context exceed their 11 KB budget. The rest of the 16 KB request limit is reserved for tool evidence.

1. Start a new conversation for the next task.
2. Or trim the design intent and instructions to what this job needs.

Related: [Write design intent and instructions](https://paracrux.com/docs/write-design-intent.md), [Decide what the Agent can send](https://paracrux.com/docs/share-design-context.md)

### "Managed inference stopped: …. Usage and any unresolved hold remain recorded."

Where: A design conversation, with CueCrux Credits selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#managed-inference-stopped

The AI service stopped the job and names the reason after the colon. "budget_exhausted" means the job reached its £2 spending ceiling, or your balance could not cover the next step. Usage so far is charged, and held credit that was not used is returned.

1. Read what the job finished before it stopped; nothing is retried on its own.
2. For budget_exhausted, refresh credit balance in Agent settings, top up if needed, and split the work into smaller jobs.
3. For anything else, ask support and include the message.

Related: [When the Agent stops or asks](https://paracrux.com/docs/when-the-agent-stops.md), [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "Provider returned HTTP …. No automatic retry."

Where: A design conversation, with OpenAI API selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#provider-returned-http

The API returned an HTTP error for the request made with your own key. 401 usually indicates a key or access problem; 429 indicates a rate or quota limit. A server error may leave usage or completion uncertain.

1. Check the key, its billing and its limits in your OpenAI account.
2. If you replaced the key, save the new one in Agent settings.
3. Inspect the action record and any saved outputs before deciding whether to send again. The app does not retry on its own.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "OpenAI sign-in did not complete. Try Connect again."

Where: Agent settings, with OpenAI Subs selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#openai-sign-in-did-not-complete

Signing in to your ChatGPT account was cancelled, timed out or failed in the browser.

1. Choose Connect ChatGPT again and finish signing in in the browser window it opens.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "Connect ChatGPT in Agent settings first"

Where: A design conversation, with OpenAI Subs selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#connect-chatgpt-first

OpenAI Subs uses your own ChatGPT account, and it is not connected on this computer.

1. In Agent settings, choose Connect ChatGPT and sign in.
2. Send again.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "Codex turn did not complete; account usage may have occurred. No automatic retry."

Where: A design conversation, with OpenAI Subs selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#chatgpt-turn-did-not-complete

The request through your ChatGPT account failed part-way. It may still count against your ChatGPT usage, and a usage limit on your plan is one possible cause.

1. Check what the turn finished before sending again.
2. If your ChatGPT plan's limit is reached, wait for it to reset or switch to CueCrux Credits.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "Selected model is unavailable. Refresh models and choose another."

Where: Agent settings or a design conversation, with OpenAI Subs selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#selected-model-unavailable

The model chosen for your ChatGPT account is no longer offered to it.

1. In Agent settings, choose Refresh models, pick one from the list and send again.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md)

### "A refund affects credit already spent or reserved. AI spending is paused; contact support to reconcile your balance."

Where: My account, beside your AI credit. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#refund-paused-ai-spending

A refund took back credit that had already been used or held for a job. CueCrux Credits is paused until support settles the balance; your card is never charged to cover it.

1. Ask support, mentioning the refund and its Paddle receipt.

Related: [How a job spends AI credit](https://paracrux.com/docs/how-a-job-spends-credit.md), [Cancel, or ask for a refund](https://paracrux.com/docs/cancel-and-refunds.md)

### "The local model did not answer. Check that its server is running and the endpoint is right."

Where: A design conversation, with Local model selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#local-model-did-not-answer

Nothing answered at the endpoint.

1. Check your model server is running and loaded the model.
2. Compare the Endpoint in Agent settings with the server's address, including the /v1 part.

Related: [Run the Agent with a local model](https://paracrux.com/docs/use-a-local-model.md)

### "The local model must run on this computer or your own network (localhost, 127.x, 10.x, 172.16-31.x or 192.168.x), over http or https, without credentials in the address."

Where: Agent settings, when you save a local model. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#local-model-address

For your design context's sake, the app talks only to model servers on your own computer or private network.

1. Enter the server's local address, for example http://127.0.0.1:11434/v1, with no user name or password in it.

Related: [Run the Agent with a local model](https://paracrux.com/docs/use-a-local-model.md)

### "The local model server returned HTTP …. Check the model name."

Where: A design conversation, with Local model selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#local-model-http-error

Your model server refused the request, most often because no model has the name entered.

1. In Agent settings, enter the Model exactly as your server lists it, then Save connection.

Related: [Run the Agent with a local model](https://paracrux.com/docs/use-a-local-model.md)

### "The local model server's reply is not Chat Completions JSON"

Where: A design conversation, with Local model selected. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#local-model-not-chat-completions

The endpoint answered, but not with an OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions reply.

1. Point the Endpoint at your server's OpenAI-compatible address, usually ending in /v1.

Related: [Run the Agent with a local model](https://paracrux.com/docs/use-a-local-model.md)

## Design context and library

### "This design has nothing to cite yet. Save its design intent or agent instructions, add a private library entry, or close a review decision, then propose from it."

Where: Design context, Company knowledge, after Propose from this design. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#nothing-to-cite

Every entry must cite text this design already holds, and this design has none yet.

1. Write and save the design intent or agent instructions that record the practice, or add a This design only library entry.
2. Then choose Propose from this design again.

Related: [Teach the Agent your company's practice](https://paracrux.com/docs/capture-company-knowledge.md)

### "Cite at least one source from this design."

Where: Propose company knowledge, after Propose. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#cite-at-least-one-source

No source is ticked under Cite from this design.

1. Tick the design intent, agent instructions or library entry that records the practice, then choose Propose.

Related: [Teach the Agent your company's practice](https://paracrux.com/docs/capture-company-knowledge.md)

### "The citation of … is for revision … but the design is at revision …; reload and cite it again"

Where: Propose company knowledge, after Propose. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#citation-revision-changed

The design was saved again while the dialog was open, so the text you ticked is no longer its current version.

1. Close the dialog, reopen Company knowledge and propose again, so the citation is of the design as it is now.

Related: [Teach the Agent your company's practice](https://paracrux.com/docs/capture-company-knowledge.md)

### "The cited … has changed since it was read; reload and cite it again"

Where: Propose company knowledge, after Propose. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#cited-text-changed

The text you ticked was edited after the dialog read it.

1. Close the dialog and propose again from the design as it is now.

Related: [Teach the Agent your company's practice](https://paracrux.com/docs/capture-company-knowledge.md)

### "Cited design … / … was not found"

Where: Propose company knowledge, after Propose. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#cited-design-not-found

The design you are citing was renamed, moved or deleted while the dialog was open.

1. Open the design again and propose from it.

Related: [Teach the Agent your company's practice](https://paracrux.com/docs/capture-company-knowledge.md)

## Materials and profiles

### "Could not replace ParaCrux Materials.sldmat (…). If SolidWorks has it open, close SolidWorks and export again."

Where: The Materials tab, after Export to SolidWorks. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#materials-file-in-use

The materials file could not be overwritten, usually because SOLIDWORKS has it open.

1. Close SOLIDWORKS.
2. Choose Export to SolidWorks again, then open SOLIDWORKS.

Related: [Put cited materials into SOLIDWORKS](https://paracrux.com/docs/export-materials-to-solidworks.md)

### "Open SolidWorks, then export again to add the ParaCrux folder to its material databases."

Where: The Materials tab, after Export to SolidWorks. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#materials-open-solidworks-then-export

The file was written, but SOLIDWORKS was closed, so its folder could not be added to SOLIDWORKS' material databases.

1. Open SOLIDWORKS.
2. Choose Export to SolidWorks again. This is needed once per computer and SOLIDWORKS version.
3. Restart SOLIDWORKS to see ParaCrux Materials in Edit Material.

Related: [Put cited materials into SOLIDWORKS](https://paracrux.com/docs/export-materials-to-solidworks.md)

### "…: folder not registered yet. Export again to add it."

Where: The Materials tab, in the SOLIDWORKS line under the export. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#materials-folder-not-registered

The named SOLIDWORKS version does not list the ParaCrux materials folder yet.

1. With SOLIDWORKS open, choose Export to SolidWorks again.
2. Restart SOLIDWORKS afterwards.

Related: [Put cited materials into SOLIDWORKS](https://paracrux.com/docs/export-materials-to-solidworks.md)

### "Open SolidWorks, then export again. SolidWorks writes the profile files itself."

Where: The Profiles tab, after export. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#profiles-open-solidworks-then-export

Weldment profiles are written by SOLIDWORKS, so the export needs SOLIDWORKS open. Nothing was written.

1. Open SOLIDWORKS and export again. The first export of the whole library takes a while; later ones keep unchanged profiles.

Related: [Install standard sections as weldment profiles](https://paracrux.com/docs/install-weldment-profiles.md)

## Updates and getting help

### "Version … · Could not check for updates. Try again when connected."

Where: Settings, General, App updates. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#could-not-check-for-updates

Where: Get help, in the app's status bar. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#connect-this-computer-for-support

Support needs to know whose request this is. An activated computer connects by itself; this one is not activated.

1. Activate the computer in Licensing, or
2. In My account, choose Connect a computer, create a support connection code and paste it into Get help within 15 minutes.

Related: [Get help from support](https://paracrux.com/docs/get-help.md)

### "Not sent: support is unreachable. Your request is saved on this computer and will be retried."

Where: Get help, after Send request. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#support-unreachable

There was no connection to support. Your request is kept on this computer, not lost.

1. When you are back online, open Get help; saved requests are sent again from there.

Related: [Get help from support](https://paracrux.com/docs/get-help.md)

### "This ticket is closed. Open a new ticket and mention its reference"

Where: Get help or My account, Support, when you reply. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#ticket-is-closed

Closed requests take no more replies. A resolved request closes after 14 days.

1. Open a new request and give the old reference (it starts SUP-) so support can pick up the history.

Related: [Get help from support](https://paracrux.com/docs/get-help.md)

### "Daily attachment limit reached. Try again tomorrow or describe the problem in text"

Where: Get help or My account, Support, when you attach a file. Link: https://paracrux.com/docs/fix#daily-attachment-limit

Your company has sent as many attachments, or as many megabytes of them, as support accepts in a day.

1. Send the request without the attachment and describe what it shows, or add it tomorrow.

# From the lab (not for sale)

## Parts built feature by feature (Lab)

> In our lab, an AI agent models parts the way an engineer would, then changes them through their own dimensions and variables.

Status: Lab · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/lab/parts-built-feature-by-feature

Lab: shown in demos and case studies, not for sale. This page describes what we are building, not something you can buy.

### What we are building

- Fully defined sketches and named features, with equations tying dependent features to the dimension that drives them. On the CR-110 connecting rod, the centre distance drives the small end.
- Real SOLIDWORKS features: fillets, I-beam pockets, Hole Wizard counterbores, an oil hole and a split cap.
- Assemblies mated from the parts' own design intent. The V8 rotating assembly reuses the CR-110 rod and turns on one mate, with every piston where the maths puts it at 11 crank angles.
- A design copied to a new size by changing its variables: the V8 went from 3.5 L to 5.0 L by changing stroke, bore and the rod's centre distance, measured back from the model.
- A design from a written brief, sized by hand calculation, checked, then changed: ScoutCrux 500, a folding drone of 112 components, became a 650 through its parameters.

- [Turn the ScoutCrux model and read its record](https://paracrux.com/demo/scoutcrux)
- [What ships today, and what's still in the lab](https://paracrux.com/demo#today)

### What it is not, yet

- It is not in the Agent you can buy. Today the Agent creates only simple box parts from dimensions you state.
- In every recording an AI agent drives SOLIDWORKS through its API in our lab, which is not how the shipping Agent works.
- The recordings are edited: stretches where SOLIDWORKS was computing are cut, and some scenes are sped up or captured frame by frame. Each recording's note says how.
- Lab results are not engineering sign-off. ScoutCrux has not been built or flown, and one of its requirements fails: folded, the 650 is too long for the original case.

### What you can do today

- [Create a simple part from a brief](https://paracrux.com/docs/create-a-simple-part.md) (Available): Describe a block with all three sizes and get a checked native part and STEP file. Leave a size out and it asks.
- [Change a dimension on a copy](https://paracrux.com/docs/change-a-dimension-safely.md) (Available): Propose a new value, run it on a copy, check the result independently, then accept or reject. Your original is never touched.

### Covers

- Feature-by-feature parts (Lab): Parts built with fully defined sketches and named features, as in the connecting rod recording.

## Drawings that follow a change (Lab)

> In our lab, an engineering change carries through from the part to its drawing and a new revision, and the original is kept.

Status: Lab · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/lab/drawings-that-follow-a-change

Lab: shown in demos and case studies, not for sale. This page describes what we are building, not something you can buy.

### What we are building

- A drawing on your own sheet format, linked to the part's properties, with dimensions, fits and notes. The CR-110 drawing is an A3 ISO sheet with the ParaCrux title block.
- An engineering change carried through: the CR-110 centre distance goes from 110 to 120 mm, and the part and its drawing rebuild to revision B, with revision A kept.
- A revision made on a separate copy. The bracket's original is preserved, a copy is widened and its bore enlarged, and each revision gets its own drawing with dimensions and model properties.

- [How one drawing became two revisions](https://paracrux.com/demo/bracket)
- [What ships today, and what's still in the lab](https://paracrux.com/demo#today)

### What it is not, yet

- Carrying an engineering change through to the drawing and its revision is not in the Agent you can buy.
- In both recordings an AI agent drives SOLIDWORKS through its API in our lab, which is not how the shipping Agent works.
- The recordings are edited and retimed, and stretches where SOLIDWORKS was computing are cut.

### What you can do today

- [Change a dimension on a copy](https://paracrux.com/docs/change-a-dimension-safely.md) (Available): Propose a new value, run it on a copy, check the result independently, then accept or reject. Your original is never touched.
- [Change two dimensions, with a volume limit](https://paracrux.com/docs/change-two-dimensions-with-a-limit.md) (Available): Change several dimensions in one reviewed run and state a measurement the result must meet. If it misses, you can't accept it.

### Covers

- Drawings on your sheet format (Lab): Drawings linked to the part's properties, updated through an engineering change and its revision.

## Review against a named standard (Lab)

> In our lab, an AI agent checked a play tower against BS EN 71-8 and Eurocode 5, redesigned it, and checked the new model again.

Status: Lab · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/lab/review-against-a-standard

Lab: shown in demos and case studies, not for sale. This page describes what we are building, not something you can buy.

### What we are building

- It reads the model from a copy, never the original, and measures every body. On the play tower it also found 30 overlapping solids where joints had never been modelled.
- It checks the model against rules from a named standard. Each rule carries its clause and says where its limit came from: the current edition, an older text, or engineering judgement.
- It runs hand calculations with every load's source listed: 18 Eurocode 5 checks with the UK National Annex on the play tower.
- It remodels as a new file, deriving each new dimension from a rule limit, then checks the new model, not its own proposal.
- It writes it up: a GA drawing, STEP file, cut list and hashed manifest for each design, and a report comparing them. On the play tower, 19 failures became 0, with 14 items left to verify.

### See it

- Recording: [Play tower: review, redesign and re-check](https://paracrux.com/case-studies/play-tower#recording) (LAB CASE STUDY · 29 SEP 2026)
- [The play tower case study](https://paracrux.com/case-studies/play-tower)

### What it is not, yet

- Design review is not in the Agent you can buy.
- Prepared, not certified. Every output says it was prepared by an AI agent and has not been checked. A competent person must verify it before anything is made or sold.
- What the model cannot show stays "verify", never "pass": fasteners, timber treatment, warning labels, rope specification, anchor pull-out and bolted joints, on the play tower.
- A rule that quotes an older edition is marked superseded until someone checks it against a licensed copy of the current one.
- The review was run by an AI agent driving SOLIDWORKS through its API in our lab, which is not how the shipping Agent works.

### What you can do today

- [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md) (Available): Ask a question in plain English and the Agent reads the answer from the model open in SOLIDWORKS. Reading never changes anything.
- [Write design intent and instructions](https://paracrux.com/docs/write-design-intent.md) (Available): Tell the Agent what must change, what must stay true and how you want it to work. It keeps both up to date as you talk.

### Covers

- Review against a standard (Lab): Check a design against a named standard, redesign, and check again. Prepared, not certified.

## Stress checks against your standard (Lab)

> In our lab, an AI agent ran SOLIDWORKS Simulation on a copy of a part, judged it against a written standard, then changed it until it passed.

Status: Lab · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/lab/stress-checks

Lab: shown in demos and case studies, not for sale. This page describes what we are building, not something you can buy.

### What we are building

- A study written once: loads, fixtures and faces picked by the feature that made them, with an expected count, so a model change cannot quietly move a load.
- Run on a copy in SOLIDWORKS Simulation. The original is never saved.
- Judged against a written standard: factor of safety on yield and ultimate, deflection, and elements through the thinnest wall. Anything it cannot measure is marked open, never passed.
- Changed only where the study allows, within stated bounds, then rebuilt and run again. On CR-110 the small end was short in tension (factor of safety 1.80 against 2.0); after redesign it passed at 2.34, and the rod and cap were 15.5 g lighter.
- Every run leaves a results bundle that the ParaCrux app turns into a printable report, or a comparison of runs, in your own template.

### What it is not, yet

- Simulation checks are not in the Agent you can buy.
- The loads in the case study are our assumption for a small single-cylinder engine, not measured values.
- Buckling and fatigue were not judged. A con rod is fatigue-critical, and a static pass is not fitness for service.
- Prepared, not certified: results need review by a competent engineer.

### What you can do today

- [Ask about the open model](https://paracrux.com/docs/ask-about-your-model.md) (Available): Ask a question in plain English and the Agent reads the answer from the model open in SOLIDWORKS. Reading never changes anything.

### Covers

- Stress checks (Lab): Linear static studies judged against an engineering standard, with lighter options suggested.

## How requests will be routed (Lab)

> A separate typed model picks a fixed route for each request, or abstains and leaves the call to you. It runs in shadow mode today.

Status: Lab · Canonical: https://paracrux.com/docs/lab/typed-request-routing

Lab: shown in demos and case studies, not for sale. This page describes what we are building, not something you can buy.

### What we are building

- A model that chooses rather than writes: for each request it picks one of a fixed set of routes (inspect, create box, profile search, clarify or unsupported) with a confidence score.
- Below 80% confidence it abstains, and the decision comes back to you.
- A missing input routes to a question. Asked for a box with no height, it routes to clarify instead of inventing one.
- In our benchmark of 28 September 2026, 16 cases each run twice, 26 of 32 answers cleared the 80% floor and all 26 matched the expected route; 6 abstained. The median answer took 270 ms.

### See it

- [How the Agent decides, with the benchmark's real answers](https://paracrux.com/how-it-decides)

### What it is not, yet

- Shadow mode only. It records the route it would choose and how confident it is, but it does not steer the Agent yet.
- The benchmark is a small, deliberate test set, not a production accuracy figure.

### What you can do today

- [When the Agent stops or asks](https://paracrux.com/docs/when-the-agent-stops.md) (Available): Why a job stops, what each message means and what to do next. It stops rather than guess, and never retries a CAD step on its own.
- [Create a simple part from a brief](https://paracrux.com/docs/create-a-simple-part.md) (Available): Describe a block with all three sizes and get a checked native part and STEP file. Leave a size out and it asks.

### Covers

- Typed request routing (Lab): A separate model picks a fixed route for each request, or abstains below 80% confidence. Shadow mode only.
