Create a simple part from a brief
Describe a block with all three sizes and get a checked native part and STEP file. Leave a size out and it asks.
Video in production
Until it is ready, this is the running order. Each step is also written out below, and you can try it in the simulator.
- The brief
Type the full brief in a design conversation.
- The tool call
Expand the call; point at the sizes in metres.
- SOLIDWORKS builds it
Real time; cut idle compute.
- The checks
Chat card with volume, area, bounds and output folder.
- Missing height
The second brief and the question back.
You need
- The app activated
- Agent connection set to CueCrux Credits or OpenAI Subs (shown beside Send)
- SOLIDWORKS with a default Part template
- A design conversation open in the Solidworks Agent workspace
You'll come away with
- Brief the Agent for a new rectangular part
- See what it checks before it tells you it is done
- Know where the files are saved
Step by step
Write the brief
State every size and its unit. The Agent can create one new shape today: a rectangular block.
“Create a new rectangular box, 100 mm wide, 50 mm deep and 25 mm high.”
Watch it convert units
SOLIDWORKS works in metres, so the Agent sends 0.1, 0.05 and 0.025. Anything outside 0.000001 to 10 m is refused before SOLIDWORKS is touched.
Check the result
The part is saved, closed and reopened. The reopened body count, volume, area and bounds are compared, and the STEP export gets a recorded fingerprint.
Find the files
New saves go into the design's own revision folder: Projects, then your project, Designs, your design, Revisions, 001. Use Open output folder from the chat card.
Leave a size out on purpose
Brief it without a height. It does not invent one. It asks you.
“Create a box 100 mm wide and 50 mm deep. Height is not yet decided.”
Try it here.
A walk-through of one job. The routing scores are real benchmark answers. The part's numbers are calculated from your brief, not measured in SOLIDWORKS.
YOUCreate a new rectangular box, 100 mm wide, 50 mm deep and 25 mm high.
Route (shadow mode)
- Route
- create box
- Confidence
- 0.97, 0.96
- Floor to decide
- 0.80
The typed routing layer (shadow mode) reads the request. In the 28 September benchmark it chose create box with 97% and 96% confidence over two runs.
Recorded from a real run
What it won't do
- It creates rectangular blocks only, and never approximates another shape with one.
- The sketch it makes is not fully constrained.
- Checks cover body count, volume, area and bounds. Feature intent and engineering correctness are not checked.
- Routing runs in shadow mode: it records its choice but does not steer the Agent yet.
