Step by step
Let it check
The app checks on launch and every four hours. When there is an update, it tells you: App update is available in Settings, General.
Read what changed
Open Settings, What's new. Versions are marked Installed or Available update. Notes for the installed version come with the app, so they work offline. The same notes are on the website's Release notes page.
Save everything
Save your editor, SOLIDWORKS and terminal work. The app closes to install.
Install
In Settings, General, App updates, choose Install update and restart. The app warns you if the editor has unsaved changes. The download is verified against its signature before it installs.
If you change your mind
Cancel, and your work stays open. If an install fails, your current version is still there.

Every message is the app's own wording. Version numbers are placeholders.

Runs the product's own code
What it won't do
- There is no rollback. A fix arrives as a newer version.
- Updates come from one stable channel; there is no setting to choose another.
- The first installer does not yet carry a Windows publisher signature. Updates inside the app are signed and verified.
- If a version is withdrawn, the app tells you not to install it, or that your installed version has been withdrawn.
